In his first big victory, Brad Bannon helped Booth Gardner emerge from single digit name recognition to defeat an overwhelming favorite in the Washington Democratic primary. Gardner went on to defeat the incumbent Republican governor in the general election. Since then we have been helping our clients win difficult primary and general election campaigns.

Bannon Communications Research has helped a number of Democrats win statewide office. Dan Grimm (Treasurer, Washington), Fred Cowan (Attorney General, Kentucky) and Martha Coakley (Attorney General of Massachusetts) won tough Democratic primaries with the assistance of BCR. The secret of their success was to run as insurgents against the political establishment.

We have helped other Democrats win elections. In Wayne County, Michigan which includes Detroit and its suburbs, BCR played a key role in the election and reelection of the County Executive Robert Ficano. In Massachusetts, we worked with Congressman Stephen Lynch who won a bitter Democratic primary in a special election to succeed the late Congressman Joseph Moakley.

BCR also helped Brad Sherman of California and Maria Cantwell of Washington win their seats in Congress.
